CANCELLATION BY participant(s)

  • All cancellations must be made in writing via email.
  • After cancellation has been made, Ascent Guides will try to resell the place on the course or trip.
  • If Ascent Guides successfully resells the place, the participant(s) will receive a full refund minus 15%, which will be used to cover administrative fees.
  • If Ascent Guides cannot resell the place on the course or trip, the following cancellation fees will apply:
    25% deposit if cancellation is made over four weeks before the start date of the course or trip.
    – The full course fee if cancellation is made four weeks or less than the start date of the course or trip.
  • Ascent Guides recommends that every participant should get insurance to cover themselves in case of cancellation on their part.

Participation

  • All participants under the age of 18 must be accommodated by an adult.
  • All medical conditions must be declared on the booking form.
  • Any new medical condition must be communicated before the start date. If this does not occur & is communicated at the start of the course or trip, Ascent Guides reserves the right to refuse your participation in the course or trip.
  • If Ascent Guides feels a medical condition will compromise safety and/or the experience of other participants then Ascent Guides reserves the right to deny your participation on the course or trip, with no refund.  
  • Itineraries of courses & trips are subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. This will be communicated & agreed upon by all prior to the start date of the course.
  • Ascent Guides will not take responsibility for any damage or loss of participant’s personal kit.
  • Participants must adhere to all safety instructions given by Ascent Guides staff when on a course or a trip.
  • Ascent Guides will do its upmost to keep all participants safe whilst on any course or trip. However due to the nature of the outdoor environment, participants are responsible for excepting the risk of injury and/or death.
  • The British Mountaineering Councils makes the following participation statement: “The BMC recognises that climbing, hill walking & mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of & accept these risks & be responsible for their own actions & involvement.” That we ask you to read & agree to.
