Who is this course for?

This course is perfect for experienced trad climbers who want to enhance their safety & problem-solving skills. Ideal participants are those who are comfortable with traditional lead climbing & want to expand their knowledge in self-rescue techniques. We will build on the foundations of climbing, adding essential skills for managing unexpected challenges.

This course assumes you have solid trad lead climbing experience, including familiarity with setting anchors, managing belay stances, & understanding basic ropework.

WhAT DO I NEED?

We’re not suggesting you to go out & spend all the money on all the latest technical kit, this is just a sensible list that in terms of keeping safe & comfortable, works. In the same vein, the weather on the day & the time of year will be big factors to help decide what you will & won’t pack. Ascent guides are more than happy to give advice and/or answer any questions you have regarding kit.
